If I remember rightly,  Bill's motivation to begin his research was as a result of one of his grandchildren coming home from school insisting that her teacher wanted her to produce a family tree by the next morning!

It is rather ironical (and somewhat frustrating) that, on his own side, Bill could only get back as far as his own grandfather (and my own investigations have so far proved fruitless) yet he was able to trace my mother's side of the family back to about 1500.

A blue link in the list of names means that this is a file where that name is regarded as the "Head" and the tree descends from that name.

If the name appears as an orange link then that name does NOT have a tree of its own but has been found to be connected to me (however tenuous that may be!) and will download the file in which it is referred to.

Those in green are spelling variations on another name, and clicking on those will download the "prime" variant.
