Welcome
and welcome visitors and ex-Wemyssers alike to the "Friends From
The Wemyss" web site. The seed was sown for the site following many
expatriate email exchanges discussing a Wemyss Reunion Day in 2004.
Due to the industry downturn in the late 1960's the population of the
Wemyss villages has dropped dramatically and there
are probably more Wemyssers living around the world than in their birth place.
However we all make choices in life whether it be for health, wealth or
otherwise but we should never deny the place we all have in our heart.
Our aim here is to provide a meeting place for anyone, anywhere in the
world, with any connection, past or present, to the Wemyss - in other
words, a global "village hall".
Please sign the
Guestbook
and join in the
forums
(it's free and a lot of fun as well as being informative)
to find an old friend, relative, mining mate, say hello or discuss a
Wemyss or world related issue.
We believe the site to be user friendly, so take your time and enjoy
the experience. We are open minded about improvements to the site too and
there is a
feedback link in the "Contact Us" section - your comments and
suggestions will be welcome.
